Missing the plane...

Delays, Delays...(can you feel our frustration?) : (
It turns out that because of new rules and regulations regarding the paperwork needed for passports, the possibility of Kris leaving on the 16th is gone. To top it all off, Delta airlines basically told me, as well as the travel agent, that if the ticket for the 16th was not used, it was worthless...long story, no discounts or refunds, it has to do with the airlines, holiday season and a month block of holiday rates...(this allows the airlines to sock it to you on prices).

This caused some major problems and we had to scramble to try and find the least expensive rates possible...had the delays not happened, all that needed to be paid was a little under $800.00 for Karina's ticket.
We had to borrow from a family member for Kris' ticket and for the additional amount needed for Karina...a total close to 3 grand...
I am sure Kris will elaborate more when she returns...
So now, Kris will be coming home on Thursday (12/20), not to Tucson, but to Phoenix. We will all be making our way there to pick them up at 8:30 in the evening.

Monday is the Visa appt. It should be ready by Tuesday. No flights out of Kiev on Wed.

Thank you all for your prayers...I am sure they were instrumental in our being able to find a rate that was able to be purchased and an extremely helpful customer service agent from Travelocity who went above and beyond to help me get Kris and Karina home.
