Our home for almost 6 weeks
Our building
Our baby girl, finally "home" with MamaI have hundred's of videos in my minds eye, I have found very few that capture the emotions that being in Ukraine 6 weeks elicited. We are close to traveling to adopt Amanda, while we were in Ukraine adopting Kara, adopting Amanda seemed a very distant possibility, and yet in less than 4 weeks we will be in another country for the second time in less than a year!
The first video if from one of my favorite places to visit in the computer world and why we began our journey to adopt and how we found Kara and Amanda. Reece's Rainbow. What Andrea has accomplished in her God given mission is awe inspiring. As you watch this video know that many of these children are now home or like our Amanda Kristelle, about to come home.

My favorite page on Reece's Rainbow HOMECOMINGS Our Amanda is the first child on this page, seeing her there made our upcoming date seem even more real to me. Scroll down and you can see Kara too.
The second video shows the snowy conditions we had for most of our trip, the softly falling snow, and the stoic people dealing with the weather.
After being alone in Ukraine for 3 weeks, I admit I began to smile at others walking through the snow, I am pretty sure that I was called a strange American woman by many. After Kara came home with me to the resort the people reached out to me and many wanted to know where Kara had come from and where my husband had gone. I had tried to tell them in my very limited Russian, apparently I did not communicate it well. The staff in the dining hall had been waiting for two weeks for Meghan and Tom to return until Yelena told them they were in America...

These videos are great. They brought lots of tears to my eyes.
I have always been the kind of person that loves children and wished to have a big family. Unfortunately, I can not go larger than I have. God bless all the children and the wonderful families that step up to spread the love.
