The day after we formally adopted Kara had Meghan back at the room feeling sick, the last day of an intestinal virus. We had succumbed to Meghan's illness and none of us were feeling very well.
No pictures, no trips to the orphanage or the dining hall, just three very sick Americans far away from home, and two happy parents despite the illness. We had a new daughter!
We did get a call asking us to schedule Tom and Meghan's flight home for the next day, we refused, they were leaving on the 29th, and that was soon enough.
The was no way we could not afford the change fees, we were on a very strict budget, we both felt that Tom would be sending money to me as soon as he got home with the rate it was decreasing weekly. Our Room Alone was $490 a week and we had just given $500 to the orphanage. I counted our money every night, making sure that there was enough for the rest of the stay, but I was extremely nervous about it.
